Ken Clark
Born and raised in Morganton, North Carolina, I’ve spent my life in Western NC, building a family and career rooted in community service. A 1991 graduate of Appalachian State University, I met my wife of 30 years, Brigitte, during college. Together, we’ve raised two children—Caroline, an artist, and Christopher, pursuing engineering. For 30 years, we’ve called Burke County home, where I co-founded The Meeting Place Mission, helping the homeless transition to permanent housing, and The Burke Augustine Literacy Project, providing one-on-one tutoring for struggling elementary readers. I’ve also served as President of Burke County United Way, on the Morganton City Human Relations Committee, and as Administrative Council Chair at Oak Hill United Methodist Church.
Professionally, I began as a Risk Manager before co-founding an In-Home Healthcare company in 1998, which grew to employ 130 people and served seniors needing support to remain in their homes. After 25 years, my brother and I sold the business and now enjoy new ventures with Garage Force. In my free time, I love traveling with family, camping, gardening, and experimenting with recipes like Shrimp and Grits or chocolate mousse-stuffed crepes. My guiding principles are simple: love the Lord, be kind, and serve others with my best effort every day.
Tim Clark
Tim Clark graduated from Appalachian State in Economics, then went to UNC Charlotte for his master’s degree. He has been married for 20 years to his wife Bridget and has three children who are all active in local sports. The Clark family has always been very involved in the community, going to back to our father Harold Clark, who was principal of Freedom High School for 17 years. Tim belongs to the Rotary Club of Burke Sunrise where he is a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow. He is also very involved in the youth program at Oak Hill United Methodist Church and coaches’ sports in the local community. Tim enjoys the beauty of Appalachian mountains and loves all types of outdoor activities.
